Fall School/Group Tours
Fall
is our favorite time of year--the fields are bursting
with pumpkins! Come experience the excitement of a
real, working farm. New for 2008 we have 3 fun tours
to choose from! All of our tours (pick your favorite
from the list below) are now teacher-guided and include:
- Tour
of the Farm Learning Center
- Hayride
to pick a pumpkin and/or apple
- Explore
the "5-a-day" Corn Maze
- Visit
the BarnYard Animals
- Get
spooked in the Barn of Horror, Jr.
- Experience
the Alien Encounter (you might get spooked here,
too.)
- Playground
time
- Jump
in the Straw Maze
- A
spin around the SBF 500
Please
feel free to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in our
all new picnic grove. Food will also be available
from our food vendors. If you just want a snack, opt
for our Class Snack Pack for $17.00. Cider and cookies
feeds 15 to 20 people. Orders must be placed 24 hours
in advance. Call 215-968-1670 to order. Picnic tables
are available on a first come, first served basis.

& Pumpkin Pickin' Tour

Oct. 6 - Oct. 10, Mon. - Fri.
from 9 AM to 4 PM
Classes
have the fun of picking an apple as well as a Baby Pam
pumpkin. Students will
learn how apples grow in the orchard, how to pick an
apple, the role honey bees play, as well as other age
appropriate agricultural information.
Cost is $7/person (students, chaperones, teachers, &
siblings) includes PumpkinFest admission, Baby Pam pumpkin,
and an apple. One
free teacher with every 15 paid participants. |

Pumpkin
Pickin' Tour

Offered
Oct. 13 to Oct. 31, Mon. - Fri. from 9 AM to 4 PM.
Take
a hayride to the pumpkin patch to see first hand how
pumpkins grow, and pick a Baby Pam pumpkin. Teachers
look for on-the-farm teaching opportunities, and classes
can enjoy PumpkinFest activities. Each child gets a
Baby Pam pumpkin and an apple.
Cost
is $7/person (students, teachers, chaperones, siblings.
One free teacher with every 15 paid participants.

Gem
Mining & Pumpkin Tour

Offered
Oct. 6 to Oct. 31, Mon. - Fri. from 9 AM to 4 PM.
Enjoy
a hands-on experience like the gold miners of the Wild
West. Each class will receive a lesson including the
history of "sluicing" for gold. Every student
gets a bag of mining rough containing gem stones to
mine in their own sifter. After mining, students take
a hayride to the pumpkin patch to pick a Baby Pam pumpkin
and enjoy other PumpkinFest activities.
Cost
is $12/student and includes Gem mining, PumpkinFest
admission, Baby Pam pumpkin, and an apple.

IMPORTANT FARM TOUR GUIDELINES
- Picnic Area -
If you would like to bring lunch or purchase food
from our vendors, picnic tables are available
on a first come, first served basis. You are welcome
to bring blankets to sit on in the event no tables
are available. You may also wish to bring handi-wipes
for the children.
- Dress Code -
Please ask parents to dress children appropriately.
The farm is generally cooler and muddier than
other place because of the open fields.
- Farm Market
- is open for everyone to enjoy! We sell farm
fresh fruits and veggies, fresh-baked cookies,
donuts, pies, and candy, in addition to many gift
items. When visiting our market, we require that
each group of children have adequate adult supervision.
- Behavior Problems
- Farm staff may ask children who are behaving
in an unsafe manner to wait for his/her group
on the bus or at other designated location. Please
remember that it is the responsibility of the
group leaders and chaperones to supervise the
children in their group.
- Please bring bags pre-printed
with children's names for their pumpkins.
- In event of inclement weather
please call 215-968-1670 to cancel or re-schedule
your tour.
