Mike grew up in Whippany, NJ and graduated from West Morris Mendham High School. From there he went to the prestigious Culinary Institute of America and graduated in 1985. From 1985-1991, he worked as a Sous Chef/Executive Chef at Mendham’s Black Horse Pub. After that, Mike worked at New Jersey’s Stockton Inn and started making desserts. He founded Confection Perfection in 1994. The original location was in Richboro, PA, where he began to specialize in making wholesale desserts for area restaurants. In 2011, Confection Perfection moved to The Market at Del Val. Today Mike specializes in making mouth-watering,beautifully decorated wedding cakes, birthday cakes and specialty cakes. Confection Perfection at The Market at Del Val is known for Mike’s mini desserts, large chocolate Brownies, and famous flourless chocolate cake! Mike is still a wholesale baker and is looking to supply a few more restaurants with his delicious desserts.

We asked Mike about his personal preferences when it comes to sweets. He told us he’ll choose chocolate over vanilla and brownies over cookies any day of the week! His favorite thing to bake is probably his chocolate brownies, which The Market at Del has available for sale 99.9 % of the time. His least favorite thing to make? Probably Strawberry Shortcake – he hates making whipped cream!
