The Blooms of Summer

zinnias

Hot weather brings out the best in some flowers. Zinnias will sulk until temps go into the ’80’s, then you will have non-stop blooms until frost. Keep the deadheads trimmed, cut lots for bouquets, and water & fertilize as needed. Your garden will be a rainbow of color. Zinnias come in giant and dwarf sizes to fit all needs.

marigoldButterflies love marigolds, zinnias, and lantana as much as you do. Plant a mix of all three, add some cosmos and alyssum, and be amazed at the butterflies that come. And if you plant perennial lobelia or scarlet sage, the hummingbirds will also visit! Be sure to provide a water source for both.
